Downtown Thursday

Discover a new way to enjoy San Antonio’s vibrant downtown! The City has launched Downtown Thursday, a pilot program offering a weekly lineup of arts, culture, music, food and family‑friendly experiences every Thursday night through August 27, 2026. It’s the perfect way for locals and visitors to explore Downtown San Antonio all summer long.

With free parking after 5 p.m. in City‑owned parking facilities, Downtown Thursday makes it easy to plan an evening out. Guests can enjoy entertainment, food and drink specials, outdoor activities, cultural programming and partner‑hosted events throughout the downtown area.

To make getting around even easier, the City is sponsoring a complimentary downtown circulator operated by The Local SATX, providing free and reliable transportation to all Downtown Thursday destinations.

Downtown businesses and organizations interested in participating, or that already host Thursday evening events or offerings, are encouraged to sign up as a partner. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Downtown Thursday Block Party

Join us for our Downtown Thursday Block Party on June 25. There will be entertainment, food, activities and giveaways, as well as free micro transit service provided by The Local SATX.

Free Parking on Thursday Nights

As part of the program, visitors can enjoy free parking at City‑owned facilities on Thursday nights from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. (some exceptions may apply). Free Parking Tuesdays will pause June through August as the program temporarily transitions to Thursdays.
