District 1 Celebrates Annual Back-to-School Bash

SAN ANTONIO (July 28, 2025) – Councilmember Dr. Sukh Kaur and the District 1 team are excited to host the3rd annual Back-to-School Bash in partnership with Senator Jose Menendez, Representative Diego Bernal and Commissioner Justin Rodriguez. The event will take place on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica St., 78212.

The Back-to-School Bash is free and open to the public and all are welcome to attend. The family-friendly celebration will feature free backpacks and school supplies, local resources, music, activities for kids, and valuable information from community partners. Attendees are encouraged to register through Facebook or by sending an email to d1constituentservices@sanantonio.gov.

“We’re proud to continue this tradition that was started by Representative Diego Bernal years ago when they were the District 1 Councilmember,” said Councilmember Kaur. “It’s one of my favorite events and it’s a joy to see families connect, laugh, and get ready for the school year ahead.”

District 1 is the “Corazon de San Antonio” and wants to ensure that children and families start the school year with the necessary tools to succeed. The event was made possible through the support of community partners and sponsors.
