D10 Councilmember remarks on the City’s 2025 Proposed Budget

SAN ANTONIO (August 15, 2024) –Today, the San Antonio City Council was briefed on the City’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Proposed Budget presented by City Manager Erik Walsh. “I am pleased to see that our efforts to push the city toward eliminating inefficiencies in our budget are paying off, and I commend city staff for their great work,” District 10 Councilmember Marc Whyte stated. “While there is still much work to be done, this is a step towards better budgeting in our City.” 

Regarding items in the proposed budget, Councilmember Whyte said, “I’m happy that we are emphasizing basic city services. Public safety and infrastructure improvements should be where we spend the majority of our tax dollars, and I appreciate that the proposed budget is focused on these issues.”

The City Council is set to vote on adopting the FY 2025 Proposed Budget on September 19, 2024.
