Cortez Branch Library to Close Temporarily for Planned Improvements

SAN ANTONIO (March 13, 2026) – San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) begins a scheduled renovation next week at the Cortez Branch Library, 2803 Hunter Blvd., 78224. The Cortez branch will close temporarily beginning March 17 to accommodate the project. The renovation is expected to take approximately eight weeks.

Renovations include interior and exterior painting, restroom renovations, new carpet, and more. No library services will be available at the Cortez branch during the closure, including outdoor Wi-Fi and returns via the book drop.

Starting Saturday, March 21, interim service will be offered out of the Ramirez Community Center, 1011 Gillette Blvd., 78224. Patrons will be able to pick up and return holds during the following hours.

Monday-Tuesday: noon – 8 p.m.
Wednesday-Thursday: 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 2:30 – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED
