City’s largest pet adoption event kicks off the Fiesta season

SAN ANTONIO (April 7, 2025) – Get ready to help pets find a family at San Antonio Animal Care Services’ (SAACS) Paw-changa event. The city’s largest annual pet adoption fair and marketplace will spotlight hundreds of adoption-ready pets at the shelter (4710 State Highway 151) on Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Fiesta-themed celebration will feature $50 all-inclusive adoptions from SAACS and local pet adoption partners, including San Antonio Pets Alive, the Footbridge Foundation and the Animal Defense League. All adopters will receive an official 2025 ACS Fiesta Medal and goodie bags while they last. 

In addition to free general admission and complimentary shuttle parking, visitors can enjoy:

• Food trucks with Fiesta treats and eats
• Day-long entertainment, including mariachis and folklorico dancers 
• An extensive Fiesta Paw’p Up marketplace spotlighting 60+ local small businesses
• A foster pet parade spotlighting pets looking for their new families
• A Family Fun Zone complete with activities, crafts, and games for the little ones

Paw-Changa’s musical lineup includes live music by Trío Ardiente, Alyssa Bernal Band, Bexar Brass, The Hyperphonics, and Mariachi Las Alteñas. Supporting sponsors include Petco Love, Merck Animal Health USA, Bug Love, Janie Burciaga Realty, Dogtopia, Beer Depot, Arfordable Dog Training, RunPaws Mobile Fitness and Friends of Animal Care Services.
