SAN ANTONIO (January 24, 2026) – As freezing temperatures arrive Saturday night and continue into Sunday and Monday, the City of San Antonio will operate its 311 phone line 24 hours a day through Monday to take calls overnight.

Residents can call 3-1-1 (210-207-6000) for help finding a place to stay warm, transportation to and from these locations, and to report an animal left outside in the cold. 311 will work with VIA Metropolitan Transit to coordinate rides.

As a reminder, the City urges residents to stay home unless travel is necessary. If you must venture out, exercise caution, especially on icy roadways.

Overnight Resilience Hubs

The City has opened six overnight Resilience Hubs to remain open through noon on Monday, January 26 to provide residents with a safe and warm place to stay.

These locations will provide basic needs and supplies, shelter from the severe cold, access to power and device charging, and free wi-fi. Anyone arriving at these locations should bring clothes, supplies, and medicine. Kennels will be available for pets in a separate area at these locations.

Daytime Places to Stay Warm

City libraries, community centers, and senior centers may serve as places to stay warm. For hours and locations, visit the City’s map of places to stay warm at SA.gov/ColdWeather or call 3-1-1.

Unsheltered Neighbors

The City is working with community partners to reach unsheltered neighbors, share cold-weather alerts, and operate additional temporary overnight shelter space at the following locations:

  • City of San Antonio Bode Community Center - 901 Rigsby Ave, 78210
  • Communities Under the Bridge (CUB) - 724 Chestnut St., 78202
  • Corazon SA - 504 Ave E, 78215
  • New Direction Church - 1139 Gembler, 78219 (everyone) & 1802 Guadalupe, 78207 (female only)

Pets are welcome at all of the shelter locations. The Homeless Services and Strategy Street Outreach Team is offering transportation to shelters and distributing emergency blankets and supplies to neighbors who decline shelter.

The City’s Community Connections Hotline (210-207-1799) is operating 24 hours to support our unhoused neighbors. Residents are encouraged to call the hotline for themselves or if they see someone in need. The hotline offers up-to-date information on available shelters, and will connect unsheltered neighbors with resources, including transportation and cold-weather supplies.
