Animal Care Services Honors Veterans with Adoption Special

$0 pet adoptions for military heroes and $25 adoptions for the public.

SAN ANTONIO (November 7, 2025) – San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is saluting our nation’s heroes this Veterans Day with a special one-day adoption celebration. To honor those who serve, SAACS will offer $0 pet adoptions on Tuesday, November 11 for all active duty, retired and reserve military service members. 

The general public can adopt a pet for just $25 during the event, which will feature special holiday hours from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the main SAACS campus located at 4710 State Highway 151.                                                                

The first 25 adopters will also receive a free bag of pet food to help welcome their new companion home. All adopted pets will go home sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped at no additional cost. Adoptions are first-come, first-served, and those wishing to take advantage of the free military adoption should bring a valid military ID.
