SAN ANTONIO (November 3, 2025) – AT&T and the City of San Antonio are proud to announce the completion of a transformative fiber internet expansion project, bringing high-speed connectivity to more than 20,000 new residential and business locations across the San Antonio community.
In celebration of the project completion and AT&T’s milestone of serving 10 million fiber internet customers nationwide, AT&T and Human-I-T also provided Restore Education 65 refurbished laptops to distribute to San Antonio residents in need. The computers, funded by an AT&T contribution, were given to local individuals and families.
“Expanding access to high-speed internet is essential for equity, opportunity, and economic growth in San Antonio,” said San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones. “This partnership with AT&T demonstrates how public and private sectors can come together to deliver real results for our residents and businesses. We appreciate AT&T’s work to deliver this project and their shared commitment to our community.”
This public-private collaboration is an example of AT&T’s work with local governments to expand internet access and reflects its broader commitment to connecting more Texas communities. With the fiber buildout now complete, residents and businesses across San Antonio can access reliable, high-speed internet that meets the demands of modern life. Residents can find out when fiber is available at their address at att.com/notifyme.
“This project is a major step forward in expanding opportunity for over 20,000 San Antonians,” said Erik Walsh, City Manager of San Antonio. “As the nation’s seventh-largest city, it’s vital that our residents have reliable access to high-speed internet. This work is valued at $24.6 million from AT&T and nearly $9 million from the City of San Antonio, and it will help more families connect to education, jobs, and essential services that enhance quality of life across our community.”
“Connectivity is at the heart of everything we do,” said JD Salinas, Vice President, AT&T External and Legislative Affairs. “We’re proud to be part of this important project bringing reliable internet to San Antonio. In addition to expanding connectivity, we’re excited to donate 65 laptops to equip local residents with the tools they need to take full advantage of the many resources the digital world can offer and connect them to the future.”
