In May of 2025, Marina Alderete Gavito was reelected to her second term on the San Antonio City Council to represent District 7.
She received her undergraduate degree at St. Mary’s University and her master’s degree at DePaul University. Marina’s professional career has focused on technology and innovation, and she most recently served as the Executive Director of SA Digital Connects – a non-profit focused on curbing the digital divide in San Antonio.
Prior to that, she was the founding Executive Director of Tech Bloc and has also led teams at Rackspace and USAA.
She previously served on the VIA Board of Trustees, the Bexar County Child Welfare Board, and the UTSA College of Engineering Advisory Board.
Outside of work, Marina is a marathon runner, and she is focused on raising her two children in the same neighborhood where she grew up.
