Created in February 2026, the Downtown Office oversees the Downtown Operations Department as well as the City’s investment in pivotal developments, comprehensive planning efforts, and large-scale events and projects in downtown San Antonio, including the Sports and Entertainment District and the Alamo.

The Downtown Office also supports new construction and redevelopment in the urban core, including emerging areas such as the Lone Star District, Jones Avenue, and developments surrounding the new Missions stadium.
