SAN ANTONIO (January 26, 2024) – Two separate construction projects will require upcoming lane closures in Downtown San Antonio.

Beginning Monday, February 5, two blocks of Santa Rosa Street – from Dolorosa Street to Houston Street - will be closed for two weeks to extend water lines. The intersections of Santa Rosa & Dolorosa (eastbound only), Santa Rosa & Commerce (westbound only), and Santa Rosa & Houston (westbound and eastbound) remain open to traffic.

Access to residences, businesses and the Farmers Market parking garage will be maintained. Officers will be on-site to help mitigate congestion and assist with traffic control. The closure should reopen by Sunday, February 18.

This work is associated with the Zona Cultural Streets 2017 Bond Project which is scheduled for completion in Fall 2024. For more information and to sign up for construction updates, visit SASpeakUp.com/ZonaCultural.

Beginning Monday, January 29, one block of Dolorosa Street – from Santa Rosa Street to Laredo Street – will be reduced to one lane for two weeks for electric duct bank installation. The lane closures will start at 9 a.m. to accommodate the morning commute and reopen at 7 p.m. each day. The lane closures should reopen by Friday, February 9.

This work is part of a City initiated Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ)-funded, Dolorosa Street Reconstruction project. For more information and to sign up for construction updates, visit SASpeakUp.com/Dolorosa.

City of San Antonio Public Works will continue to notify area residents and business owners of traffic and construction updates through a variety of methods, including in-person visits, public meetings, emails, media outreach, and social media.
