Sustainability Grants Available for local Organizations and Businesses

SAN ANTONIO (February 23, 2024) — Grant applications are now open for the City of San Antonio Climate Ready Community Action Fund, a grant program aimed to empower local community organizations and businesses to implement projects that will create a more sustainable and resilient San Antonio. 

The SA Climate Ready Community Action Fund invites innovative proposals for projects within San Antonio city limits. With grants up to $20,000 available, organizations and businesses have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on their communities and contribute to a greener future for all residents. 

Projects eligible for funding span a wide range of sustainability efforts, including but not limited to: 

  • Bike-Share Programs
  • Tool Lending Libraries
  • Community Gardens
  • Neighborhood Composting
  • Energy Efficiency Upgrades
  • Installing Solar Panels and/or Battery Storage
  • Gas to Electric Lawn Equipment Replacements
  • Installation of Rain Gardens

Furthermore, grant recipients can leverage funding with additional local and federal incentives and rebates, maximizing the impact of their initiatives.

 

Who Can Apply? 

The SA Climate Ready Community Action Fund welcomes applicants from a wide array of entities, including:

  • Faith-based organizations
  • Community organizations 
  • Neighborhood associations
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Local businesses

The deadline to apply for a grant is April 30, 2024. To provide further assistance and guidance, the City will host an information session on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carver Library, 3350 E. Commerce. Register to attend at  SASpeakUp.com/MarchInfoSession.
