Public Works Department Rolls Out Project Dashboards in a Move Toward Greater Transparency
SAN ANTONIO (February 8, 2024) — As part of its ongoing commitment to transparency and open communication, the City of San Antonio's Public Works Department is excited to announce the launch of its new, user-friendly dashboards. This digital platform is another step forward in the City's efforts to keep residents informed about the various Public Works-managed projects.
To view the dashboards, visit SA.gov/RoadToProgress and click on “Find a Project.”
The dashboards encompass a wide range of projects, including streets, drainage, parks, and facilities. Overview pages allow users to filter projects by type, phase, and status. The dashboards also include interactive and easily searchable maps detailing all 2017 and 2022 bond projects and most nonbond-funded projects undertaken by the City.
"We are proud to unveil these upgraded dashboards to our community,” Public Works Director Razi Hosseini said. “They align with our goal of transparency and enhance the ways we share information about our vital infrastructure and construction projects. We are committed to continually improving this tool and welcome feedback from our residents and stakeholders. It is essential for us to meet the needs of our community through such innovative technologies."
For the first time, the dashboards also offer contact information of Public Works staff available to answer and respond to residents’ questions or concerns about any project. The dashboards’ design and functionality were thoroughly tested with input from residents, business owners, Council District staff, and City staff.
In addition to the dashboards, Public Works recently created individual pages for all 2022 Bond projects on SASpeakUp.com. These pages, accessible via the bond projects dashboard, provide additional information about each project, such as accurate construction timelines and project costs, as well as a feedback form and the ability to sign up for email updates.
