Officer Arrested on Charges of Possession or Promotion of Child Porn

SAN ANTONIO (January 11, 2024) – The San Antonio Police Department arrested Officer Albert Sanchez, a 16-year veteran of the Department, on charges of Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography. On January 5th, 2024, SAPD detectives were contacted by a witness who reported that Sanchez admitted to her that he was engaged in sexual conduct with juveniles. Sanchez was immediately placed on Administrative Leave and a criminal investigation was initiated. 

On January 8th, SAPD Special Victim’s Unit detectives obtained a search warrant to seize and collect Sanchez’s cellular phone. The SAPD Technical Investigations Unit downloaded Sanchez’s phone which contained multiple explicit images of minors. 

Today, members of the SAPD North SAFFE Unit and SVU arrested Sanchez without incident. Sanchez has been suspended without pay. This investigation remains ongoing.
