Municipal Court Launching Campaign to Help Resolve Open Citations

SAN ANTONIO (February 21, 2023) – Beginning Feb. 27, 2023, the San Antonio Municipal Court will be launching a Warrant Resolution Campaign aimed to assist residents avoid legal trouble with open citations. This is an opportunity for those with outstanding City of San Antonio citations to discuss possible resolution options and alternatives to payment. The Campaign will run through March 30, 2023.
 
Individuals may receive a postcard, phone call, email, or text message with information about outstanding warrants. Those with outstanding warrants for unpaid traffic tickets are encouraged to contact the Court to avoid arrest. Individuals can view if they have an outstanding warrant by using the Traffic/Criminal Case Search.
 
The Court operates a walk-in docket Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Frank D. Wing Municipal Court is located at 401 S. Frio. Free parking will be available for the duration of the Campaign. Individuals can appear in court at any time without fear of arrest.
 
To accommodate those unable to appear during the week, the Court will also open under special hours on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
“We’re encouraging everyone to contact us or come to the Court with any questions,” said Presiding Municipal Judge Carla Obledo. “We’re a safe harbor court. Our goal is to help find a resolution for all as efficiently and fair as possible.”
