SAN ANTONIO (November 17, 2023) — The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office will host its 7th annual “Holiday Market and Movie” to close out the 2023 Mission Marquee Plaza programming season. The festivities will occur on Saturday, November 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The plaza will transform into a festive marketplace just in time for the holidays, featuring a locally sourced farmers market along with handcrafted and specialty items from local artisans and vendors.

"The annual Mission Marquee Holiday Market and Movie is a great way to kick off the holiday season," said Colleen Swain, Director of the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office. "This event brings the entire community together to celebrate another successful year of free programming at the Mission Marquee Plaza. We are thrilled to have you join us and look forward to welcoming you back next season."

The market will kick off with a free community Zumba class at 9 a.m. Starting at 10 a.m., the City’s Parks and Recreation Department will give out 200 native and ornamental trees, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Other activities include free hands-on art for the young and young at heart by Spare Parts Center for Creative Reuse, prize drawings, music, and food trucks.

Also starting at 10 a.m., San Antonio’s UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy will host the annual Tamal Institute with a free tamal-making class by La Familia De La Torre and a demonstration of a Chili Queen recipe by JD’s Chili Parlor.
