SAN ANTONIO (April 18, 2024)  The last remaining major road closures along Lower Broadway reopened this week. Two-way traffic will be maintained for the rest of the 2017 Bond project, which is scheduled for completion this Summer.

There will be 1-2 days of rolling closures toward the end of the project while crews pour the final two inches of asphalt. Other remaining work includes sidewalks, landscaping, and pavement striping.

The reopened sections include:

  • Broadway from Pecan Street to 4th Street, including the intersections of Broadway & Pecan Street and Broadway & 3rd Street
  • Broadway from McCullough Avenue to 6th Street, including the intersection of Broadway & McCullough Avenue

The Fiesta parade route crosses Broadway at Brooklyn. That intersection was already open to traffic, but crews are opening up the sidewalks for pedestrians in this area.

All businesses remain open and accessible. For more information about the project and to sign up for updates, visit SASpeakUp.com/LowerBroadway.
