Housing Services Portal has launched

SAN ANTONIO (April 23, 2024) – The City of San Antonio Neighborhood and Housing Services Department and the San Antonio Community Resource Directory (SACRD) have partnered to launch a new Housing Services Portal to collect, maintain and disseminate information on housing-related services provided in San Antonio — a digital “one-stop shop” for supportive housing services.
The portal launched on April 23 with a training for local nonprofit organizations who provide supportive services for individuals seeking housing-related services and support.
The City’s Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) calls for the development of a housing “one-stop” that provides access for housing-related services, including online services.
"We are thrilled to unveil the SACRD Housing Services Portal, a vital resource designed to streamline access to housing services and support in our community," Veronica Garcia, Director of the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department said. "The launch of this portal signifies a crucial step forward in our efforts to address housing challenges and ensure access to housing-related resources."
In addition to finding affordable places to live, the portal includes recommendations for utility and rental assistance, legal assistance, eviction intervention, relocation services, home repairs, maintenance and more. The portal is available in English and Spanish and was developed with input from a range of housing services providers, human services providers and other community organizations.
"SACRD is pleased to continue our partnership with the City of San Antonio to collect and share information on the crucial services people in our community need,” Bill Neely, Executive Director for SACRD said. “The Housing Services Portal is an innovative extension to our already widely used platform. We look forward to getting out into the community and sharing this exciting new tool with all those working to address housing related needs."
The event included a live training session with Q&A and collateral material distribution. Attendees were also provided with tangible resources to navigate the portal efficiently and to market within their networks.
The SACRD Housing Services Portal can be found at SACRD.org/housingservices. SACRD will offer routine training sessions on the Housing Services Portal to interested community partners, agencies and others as well as provide instructional videos on SACRD.org.
