Free “Snaps with Santa” and adoption-ready fosters available

SAN ANTONIO (December 19, 2023) – The festive season is a time for family and dozens of pets in need are looking for homes for the holidays. That’s why San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hosting a special adoption fair this Saturday, December 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the municipal shelter. Dogs from the ongoing Fa La La Foster initiative will be available for adoption on-site along with hundreds of shelter pets in need of loving families for a $25 adoption fee.

Both would-be adopters and current pet parents can bring their companion animals for free “Snaps with Santa” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In exchange for a donation of dog food, blankets, or towels to benefit the community’s pets in need, SAACS staff will give visitors a colorful, personalized metal collar ID tag for their pets while supplies last. Tasty treats will be available for purchase from a trio of food trucks. Visitors can also browse vendors offering holiday items for sale, including accessories for people and pets. The SAACS is located at 4710 State Hwy 151.
