SAN ANTONIO (August 7, 2023) — The City of San Antonio invites the community to visit Historic Market Square and La Villita Historic Arts Village this September for a wide variety of events.

When: Thursday, September 14, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Rey Feo River Parade for Education
When: Saturday, September 23, 7:30 p.m., FREE

Market Square Labor Day Weekend Celebration
Saturday, September 2 & Sunday, September 3, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., FREE
Celebrate Labor Day at Historic Market Square! This family-friendly event features live entertainment, food, artisan vendors, kids' games, and much more! City of San Antonio first responders will be making a visit and teaching the importance of safety to children and their families. Head over to our new recreation area, The Pass, for our ‘chalk-it-up’ area where families can show off their artistic talents! The Pass is a family-friendly recreation area that includes a basketball court, ping pong tables, swing chairs and tables, murals, and more. El Grito Cultural Program and Civic Ceremony
When: Friday, September 15, 6-9 p.m., FREE
Held by the Consulate General of Mexico, the annual celebration of the Independence of Mexico takes place in the streets of San Antonio outside Historic Market Square. The highlight of this musical, gastronomic and civic celebration is the historical re-enactment of Mexico’s call for independence from Spain. Diez y Seis Fiestas Patrias at Market Square
When: Saturday, September 16, 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. & Sunday, September 17, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., FREE
Join the League of United Latin American Citizens Council 648 and their partners La Familia Cortez and Univision as they host a fun filled weekend of the Diez y Seis Fiestas Patrias Celebration. Fiestas Patrias will include international and local entertainment as well as great mariachi and ballet folklorico groups. Check out the City's Downtown Tuesday offers free parking on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. in City-owned parking facilities, and City Tower Sundays offers free parking on Sundays from 7 a.m. to midnight at the City Tower Garage located at 117 W. Commerce.
