SAN ANTONIO (March 4, 2025) — The City of San Antonio invites the community to visit downtown — including Historic Market Square, La Villita Historic Arts Village and Houston Street — this March for a wide variety of events. 

While you enjoy La Villita and Market Square events, don’t forget to stop inside their stores to shop for one-of-a-kind treasures.

Join Visit San Antonio and The Harp & Shamrock Society of Texas for a fun-filled weekend festival along the River Walk and at La Villita. The weekend festivities will include dyeing the river green with eco-friendly dye, an artisan show, live entertainment, and more! SAAACAM Black History Month Art Market

Sunday, March 16, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; free

Enjoy a vibrant showcase of local Black artists and artisans, a community painting project, story time for children, games, music, poetry readings, and engaging talks from community members about their professions and contributions to labor history. Come out, explore the arts, and celebrate Black history with us in a day filled with creativity, culture, and community. Dancing in the Dark: “Hip Hop into Spring” Dance Lessons

Tuesday, March 25 6-8 p.m.; free

Looking for a fun, free date night? Join us for La Villita’s Dancing in the Dark series with free “Hip Hop into Spring” dance lessons! Come a little early with your partner, friends, or by yourself to grab dinner in the Village, or you can purchase light bites and beverages from onsite dining spots. Lunch Break on Houston Street

Location: in front of the Majestic Theatre, 224 E. Houston Street

Thursday, March 6 & 20, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Plan Ahead

Downtown can get busy, especially during spring break, so make a plan. There are numerous street closures in the downtown area and the potential for heavy traffic with several large events taking place throughout the month. Take public transportation, ride-share, bike, walk, or consult Google Maps or Waze before you leave. For more information about parking and event-related activities, visit the City’s Know Before You Go Downtown website.

Visitor Parking

For easy, convenient, and affordable parking, visit the City’s parking map provides a full list of City-owned garages and lots. Note that event parking rates (up to $15 at City parking facilities) will be in effect at some parking facilities during busy event weekends.

The St. Mary’s Garage (205 E. Travis St.) and the City Tower Garage (60 N. Flores St.) are located just steps from the River Walk and Houston Street, and they generally have many parking spots. Downtown Tuesday offers free parking on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. in City-owned parking facilities, and City Tower Sundays offers free parking on Sundays from 7 a.m. to midnight at the City Tower Garage (60 N. Flores St.).
