Día del Árbol event celebrates San Antonio’s Urban Forest

SAN ANTONIO (October 18, 2023)  The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Día del Árbol: Texas Arbor Day Celebration at Mission Marquee Plaza (3100 Roosevelt Ave) on Saturday, November 4 from 9 a.m. - Noon. This free event celebrates San Antonio’s urban forest with tree giveaways, forestry talks, family-friendly activities, music, and a live bird demonstration. Local nature-focused organizations will be on hand to connect with the community. 

More than 700 (1-gallon) trees will be given away while supplies last. Local arborists and tree care professionals will share tree care tips. Entertainment line-up includes storytime with Miss Anastasia, children’s musical performance by Joe McDermott, and Last Chance Forever live bird demonstration. 

Free shuttles will be running between Día del Árbol and Green Spaces Alliance’s Nature Fest at Mission County Park.
