District 8 Councilman Releases Statement Following Arrest

SAN ANTONIO (November 21, 2023) — On Monday, a second suspect was arrested in the deadly shooting that occurred on May 18 at the Privat Social Club.

“Following the shooting,” the Councilman said, “Privat was under intense scrutiny by the City and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC). At the time, I also filed a protest with TABC against Privat and asked that their liquor license not be renewed. 

“I am relieved to discover that this business has not been in operation since late July. We want businesses to thrive in San Antonio, but there is no place in our community for businesses that put their patrons and our community at risk. Our office will continue to monitor for any new developments.”
