SAN ANTONIO (February 27, 2023) – Today Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran welcomed guests at Texas Public Radio to the launch of the Texas Digital Equity Network and emphasized all residents should have access to high-quality broadband internet and with advancements in technology, the internet is no longer a luxury – it is a necessity.
 
In her remarks, she noted access to reliable broadband individuals and communities to struggle in full participation in the digital economy and gain access to educational and health resources.
 
“Not all Texans have equal access to the resources they need. This is a problem we must address, and the Texas Digital Equity Network is a crucial step in the right direction,” said the District 3 Councilwoman. “I encourage all of you to engage with the Texas Digital Equity Network and be part of this critical movement. Whether you are a community member, a policymaker, or a digital access provider, there is a place for you in this network. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of Texans by ensuring that everyone has access to the digital resources they need to thrive.”
