SAN ANTONIO (March 21, 2024) – During today's San Antonio City Council session, Councilman Whyte expressed his enthusiastic support for enhancing the Council Consideration Request (CCR) Process. This collaborative effort, initially introduced in August 2023 by the Councilman and Mayor Ron Nirenberg, received the Council’s endorsement with an 8-3 vote.

"This has been a long time coming," the Councilman remarked, underscoring the significance of improving the CCR process which has remained largely unchanged for more than 15 years. "It's essential not only for introducing policies but also for improving transparency. Our community has been demanding clarity in the governmental process to ensure that their interests are duly recognized.

“I am delighted to witness the passage of this ordinance, and I extend my gratitude to my colleagues and the City Clerk’s office for recognizing its importance to our municipal government. Council Consideration Requests serve as catalysts for change in our communities, and we owe it to our constituents to involve them every step of the way."
