SAN ANTONIO (February 14, 2024) – San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) is introducing a new collection of books from the heart of the San Antonio community. The Corazón Collection consists of 115 of the most popular titles at SAPL available in multiple formats and languages. The complete collection is available in eBook and eAudiobook formats through the Libby mobile app or on the SAPL website, and all titles are available in print at every SAPL location beginning today.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new collection to our community,” said Library Director Ramiro S. Salazar. “The Corazón Collection reflects the diversity of interests present in San Antonio. This collection, based on popularity with library users, demonstrates how important the community’s perspectives and choices are to the development of the library collection.”

The Corazón Collection includes both fiction and nonfiction titles for all ages and features recent titles with sustained popularity as well as classic works of fiction and nonfiction that have remained popular for decades. The Corazón Collection also features works by authors with connections to San Antonio such as Sandra Cisneros and Jenny Lawson.

Books in the Corazón Collection were selected based on their perennial popularity with SAPL users and will be updated periodically to reflect changes in popular materials. The availability of these titles in greater quantities in both digital and print formats means reduced wait times on these items for patrons.

Library visitors who check out a print or digital book from the Corazón Collection will receive a limited-edition button while supplies last at any SAPL location. Library patrons can also collect a brochure at any SAPL location with a complete list of titles in the Corazón Collection. To browse the Corazón Collection and place an item on hold, visit a nearby SAPL location or MySAPL.org/Corazón.
