SAN ANTONIO (December 12, 2023) — At today’s City Council meeting, San Antonio International Airport (SAT) received the green light for several contracts and agreements presented last week regarding the Terminal Development Program (TDP) and the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR). The largest one, not to exceed $1 billion, authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute the CMAR contract with Hensel Phelps Construction Co.
Hensel Phelps is a global aviation terminal contractor and the largest one in the U.S. with $20B+ in experience at the following airports:
“SAT’s new terminal is going to generate approximately 6,000 direct and indirect jobs,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System. “More than 85% of the CMR contract is expected to go to local contractors – which will have a major, beneficial impact on our community.”
