City Invites Public Input on Proposed Naming of Walker Ranch

SAN ANTONIO (June 14, 2023) – The City of San Antonio’s Department of Human Services is inviting the public to provide input on the proposed naming of the dining hall at the Walker Ranch Senior Center. A dedicated naming committee will host a public hearing on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Senior Center.

The Walker Ranch Senior Center, located at 835 W. Rhapsody 78216, opened in August 2022 in City Council District 9. The proposal is to name the dining hall The Honorable Joe and Cyndi Krier Dining Hall. Joe Krier is a former City Councilman for Council District 9, and Cyndi Taylor Krier is a former Texas Senator and Bexar County Judge, both longtime residents of Council District 9.

The name change was proposed by District 9 Councilman John Courage.

This meeting is open to the public and will provide time for public comment. A written response in favor of or against the proposed name may be mailed including the date of the hearing to:
