City Home Rehab Program Accepting Applications Through Nov. 20

SAN ANTONIO (November 17, 2023) – Homeowners needing repairs to their homes can apply for the City of San Antonio’s Home Rehabilitation Program through Monday, Nov. 20.

The Home Rehabilitation Program provides up to $145,000 in funding through a forgivable loan to low- and moderate-income households to help with home rehabilitation to address health, safety and/or code issues. The program helps with:

  • Major rehabilitation or reconstruction, which repairs two or more of a home’s systems, such as the foundation, electrical, plumbing, and/or heating and air conditioning or foundation/structural issues.
  • Minor rehabilitation, which addresses an isolated issue, such as siding, walk-in showers, plumbing, window replacement, water heater replacement and painting.
  • Under 1 Roof, which provides roof shingle replacement with Shasta white shingles that improve a home’s energy efficiency.

The 2022 $150 Million Affordable Housing Bond helps support the Home Rehabilitation Program, along with other funding partners. The City has about $26 million this year to support approximately 650 families.

The application is only accepted online. All applications must have all the requested supporting documents to be reviewed.

To help make the process easier, any applicants who applied last year and are interested in being considered again, can update their application by logging into the website using the same email address used last year.

If assistance is needed to submit an online application, the three community partners below are available to help with submissions.
