Brook Hollow, named for the northeast San Antonio community in which it’s located, first opened in December 1983 as the first San Antonio Public Library location built outside Loop 410. It has been remodeled twice, in 1997 and again in 2005, to meet the needs of a growing community. Brook Hollow recently received a completely new heating, ventilation and air cooling system and will soon undergo a parking lot expansion. Brook Hollow is consistently one of the most utilized SAPL locations in terms of visitors and number of items checked out. Over its forty-year history, generations of San Antonians of all ages have visited and enjoyed the Brook Hollow Branch Library.
