Alternating closures set for three Downtown bridges

SAN ANTONIO (September 27, 2023)  Three historic Downtown bridges will close one at a time over the next two months for repairs. The Augusta St., Crockett St., and South Presa St. Bridges over the San Antonio River will close to all car traffic, although pedestrian access will be maintained on the bridge. See attached detour maps.

Closure schedule (subject to change)

  • South Presa Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Oct. 2-23
  • Crockett Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Oct. 24-Nov. 3
  • Augusta Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Nov. 3-20

Underneath the South Presa and Crockett bridges, the section of the Riverwalk adjacent to construction will be closed from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Underneath the Augusta Bridge, the section of the Riverwalk adjacent to construction will be closed each day from sunup to sundown. All Riverwalk and street-level businesses remain accessible.
