14th Annual City Manager’s 5K slated for March 9

Community invited to participate in this family-friendly wellness event


SAN ANTONIO (February 23, 2024) – The City of San Antonio invites the community to the 14th Annual City Manager’s 5K (CM5K) Walk & Run on Saturday, March 9, 7 a.m. at the San Antonio Zoo and Brackenridge Park, 3903 N. St. Mary’s St. The route will begin inside the San Antonio Zoo and take participants through a portion of the zoo and through the park. 

“We’re happy to once again host this family event for our community,” said City Manager Erik Walsh. “It’s exciting to continue this tradition of offering our City employees and residents an opportunity to come together in celebration of wellness. I’m looking forward to the race and invite everyone to participate.”

Registration is underway. The registration fee includes an event t-shirt and costs $10 through February 25, $15 from February 26 through March 7, and $25 on race day. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers; top master male and female finisher; and top three finishers in eight age categories ranging from 15 and under to 70 and over. Free parking will be available for participants in the San Antonio Zoo parking garage, 130 Tuleta Drive. A course map and additional details are available on the registration website.

The race will include live music, games, vendors, and City mascot appearances. The schedule for race day is as follows:

  • Onsite registration/packet pickup – 5:30 - 6:30 a.m.
  • Opening ceremonies – 6:30 a.m.
  • Race start – 7 a.m.
  • Closing ceremonies – 8 a.m.
  • Event ends – 8:45 a.m.
  • Park opens to public – 9 a.m.
