Super Adoption Weekend Spotlights Furry Free Agents Seeking New Home Teams

SAN ANTONIO (February 5, 2026) — Hundreds of local pets are ready to score loving homes just in time for the big game! San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hosting a Super Adoption Weekend, complete with $25 adoptions, shelter scrimmages and tailgate-style fun for the whole family.

With Super Bowl LX on the horizon, SAACS is inviting the community to meet its four-legged free agents looking to make a winning play straight into a forever home. The fun kicks off Saturday, February 7 and heads into overtime Sunday, February 8. Plays will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the municipal shelter located at 4710 State Highway 151.

To keep the excitement going, visitors can cheer on adoptable dogs during special play-yard scrimmages, happening from 11 a.m. to noon and 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday. During these enrichment sessions, dogs will sport team colors inspired by this year’s Super Bowl matchup, and fans are encouraged to bring chairs and cheers.

All SAACS pets come game-ready to their new home: spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped with lifetime registration. Dogs adopted from SAACS also qualify for access to shelter trainers for guidance and training support.

Would-be adopters can scout the full roster of available pets at SAACS.net, but fans are encouraged not to wait too long. These free agents won’t stay on the bench for long! Standard SAACS adoption policies and procedures apply.
