San Antonio International Airport Shares Spring Break Travel Tips

SAN ANTONIO (March 6, 2026) — San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is expecting a busy Spring Break travel season. Approximately 328,000 travelers will be flying in and out of SAT from Friday, March 6, through Sunday, March 15, with the busiest days anticipated to be Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13.
“Our SAT team is working closely with our airline and federal partners to help make travelers’ journeys as smooth and enjoyable as possible,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, City of San Antonio Aviation Department. “Spring Break is one of the busiest travel periods of the year, so we encourage passengers to plan ahead, consider their options when it comes to parking and arrive early.”
Aside from using ride-share services, travelers can choose from a variety of on-site parking options:
- Fly Away Valet (located in the Short-Term Garage)
- Long-Term Parking Garage
- Short-Term Parking Garage
- Economy Parking Lots with free shuttle service to the terminals

Additional Spring Break Travel Tips
- Check TSA Guidelines. Get familiarized with the rules on liquids, food and electronics to avoid delays.
- Arrive early. SAT recommends passengers arrive two hours before boarding for domestic flights and three hours for international flights.
- Connect. Metropolis Drive In, Drive Out will make travel smoother. Upon arrival, passengers will scan a QR code and link their license plate to their payment method to quickly pay for parking via the Metropolis app.
- Travel Safely. Travelers are reminded to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight when parking.
