San Antonio Earns Overall Gold Medal Rating for Adopting Policies to Advance Residents’ Quality of Life
SAN ANTONIO (December 12, 2024) – For the second year in a row, San Antonio has been awarded a Gold Medal Rating from CityHealth, an initiative of the de Beaumont Foundation and Kaiser Permanente, for its commitment to adopting and implementing evidence-based policies that enhance health and well-being. This prestigious recognition places San Antonio among only seven cities nationwide to achieve an overall Gold Medal Rating in 2024 and the only city in Texas with this designation. Other cities receiving an overall gold medal include Boston, Denver, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Portland and St. Louis.
Each year, CityHealth recognizes cities nationwide by awarding gold, silver, bronze, or no medals across 12 policy areas, with overall medals awarded to cities earning five or more policy medals. These policies help all residents have access to safe housing and a healthy body and mind.
