SAN ANTONIO (June 11, 2025) – The San Antonio LGBTQ+ Advisory Board invites residents to a public forum to share input on the issues that matter most to the community and the city. The forum will take place Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the International Center, Suite 303, located at 203 S. St. Mary’s St.
Held in conjunction with Pride month, the forum will follow the Board’s monthly meeting. Complimentary parking will be available after 5 p.m. at all City-operated parking garages, lots, and on-street meters.
The evening will include welcoming remarks from Board Chair Maria Salazar and the featured guest speaker, the Honorable Judge Rosie Speedlin Gonzalez. Gonzalez presides over County Court-at-Law No. 13 and the Reflejo Specialty Court, which focuses on domestic violence. Other community leaders and speakers will join the meeting to address critical topics affecting the LGBTQ+ community. The Board will also issue a statement regarding Jonathan Joss.
Those wishing to speak can sign up at the event starting when doors open at 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the forum, attendees are invited to stay to connect and enjoy refreshments.
“We are excited to introduce ourselves as the inaugural members of San Antonio’s formal LGBTQ+ Advisory Board,” Board Chair Maria Salazar said. “This forum will provide details of our future gatherings and how to access the board. We are committed to serving our community and this great city we call home.”
San Antonio’s historic LGBTQ+ Advisory Board, established in 2024, is guided by its vision to serve the Mayor, City Council, and City departments by providing advice and insights on issues impacting the city’s LGBTQ+ residents as well as engage with the community to identify priorities and propose policies to enhance the quality of life for all San Antonians. The Board is comprised of 13 dedicated members, with 10 appointed by each district to serve as representatives and three appointed by the Mayor.
