SAN ANTONIO (August 29, 2024) — San Antonio International Airport (SAT) expects another record-breaking milestone over Labor Day weekend. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) predicts that more than 173,000 travelers will fly in and out of SAT between today and Monday. The single busiest day of holiday travel is anticipated to be Sunday, according to TSA.
These are TSA’s projected numbers from Thursday, August 29, through Monday, September 2, compared to the last three years:
“If you are flying out, please arrive at least two hours before your boarding time for domestic flights and at least three hours before international flights,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, City of San Antonio Aviation Department. “We are so happy to see more travelers than ever choosing to fly from SAT, and we want you to have the best experience possible. Last month, we surpassed one million passengers in July alone. It was our second time breaking one million in one month. And we’re still on our record-breaking monthly streak since May 2023.”
There are several new nonstop options this Labor Day weekend that weren’t available last year, such as Queretaro, Frankfurt and Philadelphia. There have also been increases in daily flights on existing routes.
Please visit the airport’s website for more information on SAT’s nonstop destinations and travel tips.
