Preservation Month offers opportunities to learn about San Antonio
Published on May 05, 2025
SAN ANTONIO (May 5, 2025) — May is National Historic Preservation Month, and the City of San Antonio’s Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) invites the community to celebrate San Antonio’s built and cultural heritage. Every year, OHP and local partners curate a full calendar of events and awareness campaigns that showcase the city’s unique and diverse heritage and promote the power of preservation in our community.
The signature event of this year’s celebrations is OHP’s 16th Annual Home Repair Fair (formerly known as the Historic Homeowner’s Fair). The fair has grown through the years, attracting more than 1,000 people who are interested in learning how to maintain and repair their homes and live more sustainably. This year, the Fair will take place on Saturday, May 17, at the historic Confluence Theatre (former Wood Courthouse) in Hemisfair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be the same great resource fair with added opportunities for hands-on learning with a focus on reuse.
There are many events happening this year. Check out all the event details and links to partner organizations on the Preservation Month calendar at SASpeakUp.com/PreservationMonth
