SAN ANTONIO (October 23, 2024) — San Antonio will welcome thousands of visitors to downtown the weekend of October 25-27 for Día de los Muertos (“Day of the Dead”) events and the Billy Joel and Sting concert on Friday, October 25.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and arrive early to downtown events to avoid expected disruptions related to traffic, construction projects, and parking. Take public transportation, ride-share, bike, walk, or consult Google Maps or Waze before you leave. VIA will be offering Park & Ride to the Billy Joel and Sting concert. There will be heavy congestion downtown the evening of Friday, October 25, especially near the Alamodome and I-37/281. Take alternate routes, if possible. Visit the City’s Know Before You Go Downtown website for helpful resources and parking information.

The Day of the Dead River Parade and the Billy Joel and Sting concert are both scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 25. The concert will take place at the Alamodome, and doors open at 5:30 p.m. The Day of the Dead River Parade will take place on the River Walk. In addition, Hemisfair will host Muertos Fest on October 26 and 27; La Villita will host the Day of the Dead Festival October 25 through October 27; and Market Square will host its Cultural Celebration of Día de los Muertos on October 26 and 27. The River North Block Party will take place on October 26 from 2 to 6 p.m.

Parking
