Officer Charged with Assault Choking/Strangulation - Family

SAN ANTONIO (September 20, 2025) – The San Antonio Police Department was notified that SAPD Officer Cody Haegelin turned himself into the Medina County Sheriff’s Office following the issuance of an arrest warrant for an off-duty incident that occurred on September 14, 2025, in Medina County. Haegelin has been charged with Assault Choking/Strangulation - Family.

Officer Haegelin, a 14-year veteran of the department, is currently assigned to SAPD’s SWAT Detail. He has been placed on Administrative Duty.
