SAN ANTONIO (December 22, 2025) – Our hearts remain with the family and loved ones of this child, Lina Sardar Khil, whose absence continues to be felt deeply throughout our community. Law enforcement has never stopped working to determine what happened to Lina, and this commitment continues through a joint investigation between the San Antonio Police Department and the FBI San Antonio Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. Over the years, a coordinated multi-agency law enforcement effort involving federal, state, and local partners conducted five extensive searches across the San Antonio area. These efforts included physical ground searches, neighborhood canvassing, excavations, and an underwater search supported by the FBI’s Underwater Search and Evidence Response Team (USERT). Each search was conducted thoroughly and with the hope of uncovering new information.

In April 2024, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children developed an age-progressed missing person release for Lina, which was distributed by the FBI to help renew public awareness and generate additional investigative leads. Investigators have also conducted hundreds of interviews, issued legal process to obtain and analyze digital evidence, and followed up on leads well beyond the San Antonio area, extending into Canada.

Every tip and lead received—regardless of its source—has been carefully reviewed and fully followed up. Some information provided has included inconsistent or unsubstantiated claims, and investigators have worked diligently to assess each one while continuing to seek corroborating evidence. The investigation remains ongoing, and no piece of information is dismissed without review.

We continue to ask the public to come forward with any information that may help bring answers in Lina’s case. Tips can be submitted to the FBI at Tips.FBI.gov, or to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) or MissingKids.org, or the San Antonio Police Department where help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lina’s case remains a priority, and investigators remain committed to following every lead, pursuing every possibility, and supporting her family as the search for truth continues.
