Mayor Leads San Antonio Delegation to Taiwan

SAN ANTONIO (March 13, 2026) – Today, Mayor Jones released a statement on the upcoming trip to Taiwan, which will be focused on strengthening bilateral collaboration, accelerating investment opportunities, and reaffirming San Antonio as a competitive and supportive market for Taiwanese companies seeking growth in the United States.
“You can’t talk about the future of advanced manufacturing without talking about Taiwan,” said Mayor Jones. “San Antonio has many strategic advantages that make our community ripe to host Taiwanese companies looking to expand their U.S. footprint, and I look forward to telling our story.”
The Mayor will be joined by District 9 Councilmember Misty Spears, who is the Sister City representative to Kaohsiung, as well as several members of the Mayor’s newly established Economic Security Advisory Group. Namely, Jim Perschbach, President & CEO of Port San Antonio, Amanda Lee Keammerer, CEO of Javilud LLC, and Eric Adolphe, CEO of Forward Edge-AI.
Among the companies the Mayor will be meeting with will be Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world’s largest dedicated semiconductor foundry, producing advanced chips for industries that include artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing.
The Mayor was also invited to the 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE), where she will speak on a panel focused on smart AI governance. SCSE is Asia’s largest smart city showcase and brings together city leaders, industry experts, and global partners to explore next-generation urban solutions driven by AI, sustainability, and digital transformation. As the Chair of the Technology and Innovation Committee for the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the Mayor looks forward to sharing San Antonio’s efforts on the global stage.
