Mayor Calls for Robust Plan on Flood Projects

SAN ANTONIO (November 6, 2025) – Following the Kleinfelder report, Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones released the below statement:

“At nearly every event, a constituent asks me to do something about our failing infrastructure and risks of flooding. San Antonians deserve to be safe from flooding, regardless of their location within the city. The Kleinfelder Report provides a good understanding of the flooding that occurred on June 12, which led to the unfortunate death of 13 of our neighbors. I look forward to the timely implementation of the report’s recommendations, which the council will track on a quarterly basis. However, our community also deserves a more holistic approach to prioritizing and funding the numerous flood-related infrastructure projects needed in our community. I look forward to the City Manager presenting that strategic approach and funding options to the council.”
