SAN ANTONIO (February 25, 2026) – Today, Mayor Jones announced that she is proposing to establish the Mayor’s Commission on Voting in order to increase voter participation across the City of San Antonio.
“As we approach the Nation’s 250th birthday, it is important now more than ever that we are doing our part locally to create a more perfect union,” said Mayor Jones. “I look forward to working with City Council on the implementing ordinance and ensuring San Antonio residents are heard at the ballot box.”
Pending Council approval, the Commission would be comprised of three appointees chosen by the Mayor and an appointee from each District, with a goal to be in place by April 3, 2026.
