SAN ANTONIO (August 5, 2026) — Let the San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) be your partner in education this school year. As students head back to class, SAPL is reminding families of the many educational resources available at the library year-round.
In addition to a collection of more than two million items and dozens of free online resources, SAPL offers free, live online tutoring 24/7, Wi-Fi and public computers, and low-cost printing services. The library now even offers Wi-Fi hotspots for checkout at 10 locations to take an internet connection home. Simply sign up for a SAPL card today and start enjoying these educational benefits. Stop by any SAPL location with proof of residency in Bexar County and a photo ID to register in minutes.
SAPL also offers after-school activities with weekly teen-only activities at all locations. Stop by after school and make new friends while crafting, watching movies or studying. Teenagers in need of service hours for school credit or who want to help their local community can also apply to become teen volunteers. To learn about teen volunteer opportunities, visit the SAPL website. Some library locations also offer after-school activities for tweens, ages nine to 12.
Students can also find free, educational programming year-round at all library locations. Programs range from Story Times for many ages to creative writing programs and chess clubs. Library programs promote literacy, foster creativity, and help develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. For more information about programming, visit SAPL’s events calendar.
