SAN ANTONIO (March 4, 2026) — The San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) has good news for anyone who has been desperate to get their hands on a copy of “Heated Rivalry” by Rachel Reid. This weekend only, SAPL is offering unlimited digital copies of the book that inspired the hit HBO television show. The popular book-turned-TV series will be available without waiting as an eAudiobook or eBook on March 7 and 8.
The book follows hockey rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanox. The two have made a career on their legendary rivalry, but when the skates come off, the heat between them is undeniable.
Unlimited copies of “Heated Rivalry” available to readers this weekend are part of the San Antonio Public Library’s ongoing monthly No Holds Weekend promotion. Every month, the library offers a popular book without waiting in eBook and eAudiobook formats. Previous No Holds Weekend titles include “The Thursday Murder Club” by Richard Osman, “The Correspondent” by Virginia Evans, “James” by Percival Everett and “One Golden Summer” by Carly Fortuno.
No Holds Weekends aim to reduce barriers to accessing popular items in the collections. Titles that would normally take weeks or months to check out become available for SAPL cardholders to enjoy on mobile devices, tablets, computers, and e-readers. Patrons can access No Holds Weekend titles during their availability period by logging into Libby or through the SAPL catalog.
Patrons with a current hold on eBook or eAudiobook copies of “Heated Rivalry” will receive a notification through Libby on Saturday when the book is available for checkout. Readers will have a three-week loan period to finish the book.
