November celebrations include events, book lists and other activities.

SAN ANTONIO (October 28, 2026) – The San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) is observing Native Indigenous American Heritage Month in November with a diverse selection of in-person programming, books, and resources.

The history of honoring Native and Indigenous Americans goes back to the early 1900s. The United States passed a resolution to create the annual observance in 1990. SAPL encourages the public to learn more about Native and Indigenous tribes, their history and the unique challenges they have faced and continue to face through programming and events.
