SAN ANTONIO (May 6, 2026) — Led by the Office of Historic Preservation, the City of San Antonio is developing a strategic plan to provide the framework for future decision-making and investments related to the River Walk. The first public meeting of the River Walk Strategic Plan will take place Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at Central Library, 600 Soledad St., 78205.
The event will introduce the planning process, share what the City hopes to learn from residents and stakeholders, and provide opportunities for residents to share their ideas, concerns, and vision for the River Walk’s next chapter. Attendees will learn about the goals and timeline and hear from project leaders of the Strategic Plan. They will also participate in interactive activities designed to gather community input.
Residents can register online at SASpeakUp.com/RiverWalk. Parking at the Central Library is free with a validation ticket.
The City is committed to efforts that support business growth, facilitate activation, and reinforce the River Walk as a world-class destination for residents and visitors alike. Undertaking the River Walk Strategic Plan will offer the public many opportunities to provide input on the improvements they would like to see for the River Walk.
The City has completed a city-wide digital survey for the strategic plan, which was completed by 7,320 residents and visitors in total.
