Fall Head Over Paws with a Fur-Ever Valentine This Weekend

San Antonio Animal Care Services offers special $0 adoptions to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

SAN ANTONIO (February 11, 2026) – When it comes to four-legged Valentines, love comes in all shapes, sizes, and fur patterns. San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) invites the community to find a match that lasts fur-ever. From Friday, February 13, through Sunday, February 15, SAACS will host its Fur-ever Valentines Adoption Weekend, offering $0 adoptions because true love doesn’t have to break the bank. Throughout the weekend, residents can look for love in two ways at the municipal shelter, located at 4710 State Highway 151. 

For those who would like help finding “the one,” SAACS will offer Meet Your Match sessions, guided small-group introductions designed to help potential adopters learn more about available pets in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Afterward, participants can head straight to the kennels with everything they need to take the next step toward adoption. Sessions will be offered every hour beginning at 10:30 a.m. and residents can sign up at the SAACS website.

Guests who prefer to follow their hearts can also explore the shelter at their own pace and let love happen naturally. Staff and volunteers will be available all weekend to answer questions and assist with the adoption process

In addition to meeting adoptable pets, visitors can enjoy Valentine-themed interaction stations throughout the weekend, including free puppaccinos and custom pet tags for adopters, and a rose for the first 100 completed adoptions on Valentine’s Day.

Would-be adopters can get started by browsing available pets at SAACS.net and on social media at @SanAntonioACS. SAACS adoptions always include spay/neuter surgery, a registered microchip, initial vaccinations, and access to the shelter’s trainers.
