SAN ANTONIO, April 16, 2026 – In recognition of Donate Life Month this April, the District 8 Office coordinated with City staff to illuminate City Hall in blue and green, joining landmarks across the city in honoring individuals who have given the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation.

“District 8 is home to the South Texas Medical Center, where lifesaving care takes place every day,” said Councilmember Ivalis Meza Gonzalez. “Illuminating City Hall in blue and green is a meaningful way to honor donors and raise awareness about the critical need for organ, eye, and tissue donation. We remain committed to supporting efforts that improve health outcomes and strengthen our community.”

Through collaboration with organizations such as South Texas Blood & Tissue, the City continues to raise awareness about the importance of donor registration and to celebrate the lives saved through donation. Local awareness efforts, including landmark lighting displays, play a key role in encouraging community members to take action.
